post what you like, in whatever language suits you. after all we dont prepare soups for others to like but because we think its fun... as it is supposed to be.

Gehackt: Geldautomat spuckt Scheine

 

Das hat der Sicherheitsexperte Barnaby Jack, Mitarbeiter beim Security-Dienstleister IOActive , im Rahmen der Sicherheitskonferenz Black Hat  vorgeführt.

Im Rahmen seiner Vorführung hat Jack unter anderem mithilfe eines USB-Sticks einen Rootkit auf einem Geldautomaten installiert. Damit erlangt er die Kontrolle über das Gerät. So ist es dem Forscher möglich, auf dem Display das Wort "Jackpot" anzuzeigen, während der Automat Geldscheine ausspuckt. Dem Experten zufolge könnten Hacker manipulierte Geräte auch per Modemverbindung fernsteuern. Tranax und Triton haben die entsprechenden Sicherheitslücken mittlerweile geschlossen. Doch insgesamt hat Jack nach eigenen Angaben zufolge vier Geldautomaten-Modelle geknackt.

it was supposed to be awesome, now its a bitter pill...

its a shame! I was looking forward to this release for the past ten years (sc basicly introduced me to the world of online gaming). It was supposed to be one of the few games i would happy buy these days.

And blizzards "needs internet 24/7 for single player"-"no lan"-"hand over all control"-"steam like"-policy is going to spoil it all... such a desaster.

well... there is still civ 5 coming up in september. dear god, please let this be an "normal" release...

who would have thought that there would come a day we would wish for the "regular" EULA instead of this current crap.
